HI! GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
We are excited about what you will find here – a God, a faith, and a people grounded in love.
We have created this site as a resource for people who are seeking a deeper connection with God. While we know there are other places that can offer that, we believe you can find that deep, spiritual connection through The Episcopal Church.
We come from a variety of backgrounds: raised in church, completely new to church, on the edge of society, completely conventional – you name it. And while we welcome everyone through our doors, we know that for some people, walking into a church can awaken old traumas.
But we believe the arms of God embrace all God’s children, without exception. We strive to do so daily.
So if you are ready to be with a worshiping community, we welcome you to find one of our churches.
Come in. Sit awhile. Explore. It’s safe here.
What Others Are Saying...
“I was not raised anywhere near an Episcopalian church. In fact, I couldn’t even pronounce this word until I was twenty-four. Still, I write about Episcopalians a lot. Not on purpose. I do it because I like them, I guess. And more importantly, I do it because I like their parties.”
“The history of the Episcopal Church is closely tied to the history of the United States. The church was founded after the American Revolution as the successor to the Church of England in the new country. . .Even today, the seat of the presiding bishop of the church, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., is sometimes called ‘America’s church.’”
“ . . .I’ve watched with some consternation as headlines about the (not-so-revelatory) disclosure that I attend an Episcopal church declare that I’ve “left evangelicals for Episcopalians,” . . . and “departed evangelicalism to embrace a couch potato, cafeteria-style Christianity.” See why Rachel Held Evans became an Episcopalian.
An Episcopalian, Robin Williams once listed his “Top 10 Reasons to be an Episcopalian.” Among them: 1.) No snake-handling. 2.) You can believe in dinosaurs. 3.) Male and female God created them; male and female we ordain them. 4.) You don’t have to check your brains at the door. 5.) Pew aerobics. . . Go here to see them all.
Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us; so be quick to love, make haste to be kind, and go in peace to follow the good road of blessing. Tweet by Pete Buttigieg
